4 Ways To Care For Your Skin On Spring Break

For many students and families, spring break is a welcomed reprieve from the winter chill. The chance to escape to a warm destination often comes with increased sun exposure and a change in normal skin care routines. Protect your skin and maintain healthy habits with the following sun care tips.

Bring your sunscreen
Outdoor activities are a welcomed change from the long, cold winters spent inside, but when your skin hasnít seen the sun in months it doesnít take long to develop a burn. Whether youíre headed to a warm beach or taking a road trip, one of the most important products you can bring on your spring break holiday is sunscreen. Epionce Daily Shield Tinted SPF 50 is a broad-spectrum, very water-resistant sunscreen to hold up even when sweating or swimming, protecting your skin against UVB rays that cause sunburn, and UVA rays that lead to premature aging. Apply in the morning under makeup or on its own for a natural glow. For best results, apply liberally at least 15 minutes before going out into the sun, and be sure to reapply at least every two hours or after 80 minutes when swimming or sweating. Use at least an SPF 30 broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect any exposed skin on your body.

Fashion-forward sun safety
Clothing is a valuable tool to protect your skin from UV rays. Protective clothing is made with a higher Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) to shield your skin. With so many options available, including swimming accessories, there is something out there to fit your style or your favorite activities. Add a wide-brimmed hat to cover your ears, neck, face and scalp to guard against sunburn.

Relax and hydrate
If you find yourself spending too much time in the heat, try a simple Epionce solution to calm visible redness and ease discomfort. To help skin recover quickly, spritz Balancing Toner on your face, arms, legs and torso. The naturally soothing cucumber extract helps hold in moisture and calms visible irritation. Apply a tablespoon of Enriched Firming Mask and leave on for fifteen minutes to help to take away the heat and redness from warm temperatures and too much sunshine.

Be mindful of water
Getting caught up in spring break activities makes it difficult to remember to drink water. Dehydration can cause you to feel sick and irritable, and is aggravated by warm temperatures and sugary or alcoholic beverages. Set goals for water intake to help you maintain a healthy amount of hydration. For example, try to drink a large glass of water when you wake up, keep a water bottle with you throughout the day and swap sodas or sugary drinks for water at meals.
